Causes Of Apathy For Sailing
The Earth contains large bodies of water, with over 70% of its surface covered by this liquid. Humans are not aquatic beings therefore, they don’t do so well in aquatic habitats, however, this did not discourage them from finding a way to explore the oceanic world. Like how humans face most of nature’s limitations, they created several complex machines by using their standout factor; a well-developed brain. Now, we can travel across the length plus breadth of all the water bodies on earth using different aquatic vehicles like speed boats, submarines, cruise ships, and other machines.
Sailing involves any activity that takes advantage of wind power acting on sails, kites, or wingsails to transport a craft usually on a body of water. It could also be done on land as well as on ice. Apart from sailing being used basically as a means of transport, it can similarly serve as a leisure activity. The experience as the cool ocean breeze gently clashes against your skin, the beautiful sight of the vast ocean, and the slight sense of freedom it simulates for the sailor all add together to make sailing an epic experience. Still, even with all the good things sailing has to offer its participants, certain individuals do not fancy the experience.
The apathy for sailing could be caused by different factors and this will be shared in the following lines. A person with a phobia for a large body of water will most likely not subscribe to the activity called sailing. Their fear keeps them away from any activity that may include large bodies of water, and sailing is one of them. A person might also not fancy sailing because of their previous bad experience at sea, and truth be told, many factors exist that can make you not enjoy sailing. It is most times an extremely cold experience due to the sea and the wind, most times, you will be forced to eat the same type of food almost every day due to the limited food storage allowed by the craft. So it will not be heaven for you as a foodie and you will love your food supplies to you in great diversity.
It can be a dangerous activity with several creatures swimming below you that would love to have a taste of your flesh. Sailing can prove even more dangerous if you are not attuned to swimming. Sails similarly move at a slow pace which can be quite fun when you are enjoying the whole process but could seem hellish if you don’t fancy the trip. Sailing like everything in this world has its positives and negatives, before committing yourself to a sailing journey, it will be wise to weigh its pros with its cons.
